As part of the commemorations of the 20th anniversary of the European single currency, the Banco de Portugal's Money Museum and the NOVO BANCO Cultura inaugurated the exhibition (Euro)politics: contemporary photography after 1999.

The exhibition, curated by Luísa Santos, brings together 18 works of the NOVO BANCO Contemporary Photography Collection and will be shown at the Money Museum until September 8, 2019. This is the first public exhibition with works exclusively from the NOVO BANCO since 2016. The selected works portray Europe in transformation, in the perspective of contemporary international photography.

From three central themes - "acts of hospitality"; "acts of participation; and "acts of utopia" - visitors are invited to reflect on cohesion, belonging and social integration, economic and political integration, concepts that were the origin and continue to mark the design of the European project, of which the euro is one of the main symbols.
